Starting 15th February 2025, United Airlines will introduce direct flights from Newark, New Jersey, to Dominica, offering travellers a convenient new way to reach the island. The weekly flights will depart at 9:10 a.m. and take approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes, providing quick and easy access to this beautiful destination.
Tourism Minister Denise Charles-Pemberton announced the launch, describing it as a major milestone for Dominica’s tourism sector. This new route is part of a strategic plan to attract 500,000 visitors by 2030, enhancing the island’s appeal to international travellers.
The direct service reflects years of careful planning, significant investments, and partnerships with key airlines, including American Airlines and now United Airlines. According to the Minister, these flights will not only boost tourism but also make travel easier for Dominicans, whether for work, education, or visiting loved ones abroad.
With ongoing upgrades at Douglas-Charles Airport and a commitment to enhancing travel infrastructure, Dominica is taking important steps towards becoming more connected to the world. This new direct route by United Airlines is a testament to the island’s progress and its vision for the future.
